Taking Time to Smell the Candles...

Silly title right?  Not exactly. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in making the candles and selling the candles that I rob myself of the pure joy of smelling the candles.  That's why I started this business after all.  To me it's all about the pure joy of lighting a really strong candle for the very first time.  I'm addicted to it.  Fortunately, there's always a few hundred floating around here on any given day.  I am a simple woman with simple taste.  As I write this, I am taking the time to smell a wonderful pear fragrance that we call   Daddy's Girl.  It's an innocent fragrance that takes me back years that have long since passed.  That's the amazing thing about a really great fragrance.

 I started Down South two years ago in my kitchen.  My first "wax melter" was a presto pot that I had purchased at Walmart.  It held a grand total of four pounds of wax. I laugh when I think of that.  You wouldn't believe how long it took to pour a whole four pounds of wax back then. 

Fast foward a couple of years, and you'll find a company that still takes great pride ( and pleasure) in the little things.  We've got a quality product that is made right here in the USA.  Our company is family owned and operated; we love the fact that we are able to give customers the personal attention that the rest of the world just doesn't have time for.  It's one of the things that we do best.
